Site Move and Lore Things

Apr 10, 2019 5:26 am

We've done a site software move, and we're headed into a minor lore overhaul.

As everyone's probably quite aware by now, Messiah was moved onto a different software. This is called Gaia (say hi, Gaia), and was coded entirely from the ground up by Esmera. It is still alpha software, this means it's not even into beta testing stage yet, and is close, but not quite at being ready for release. As such, some things may go a bit sideways sometimes, you'll often run into functions that don't do what they say they do, buttons that don't do anything, links that go nowhere, and so on.

However, for an alpha, Gaia is pretty stable, and it should be seeing a full release within a few months. Honestly, I love it, I hope everyone else does, too.

More recently, we sort-of-kind-of merged with another fantasy site called Skybreak. This site had a totally different premise, but we got to talking, andromeda and I (hephaestus) and it turns out they mesh together surprisingly well. Further, our site lore is kind of... well, it's a lot. In order to properly mesh the new elements into Messiah without it being unnecessarily messy, andromeda and I are going to go over the site wiki and rewrite some stuff. Along similar lines, I intend to write a short, TL;DR version of the Messiah lore on this site's page system, to:

  1. Serve as the site's temporary lore until the new lore is complete;
  2. Serve as a "this is all you really need to know right this second" type dealio;

Hopefully, this will make Messiah a bit less daunting. As always, highly recommend new players check out the wanted requests, it's the easiest way of getting your foot in the door.

Thank you, and good morning, happy playing, everyone.

P.S. We have a new map. It's just as beautiful as the last one. (Thanks, Esmera.)
