Ah, the pleasure district--a man's first stop when coming back into Dalmasca. At least, it was Einan's first stop. It had been a while since he last felt a hand against his body or lips against his. Work got in the way a great deal of the time. Work and trying to make sure his tracks were covered. It was hard work to make everything appear as effortless as Einan attempted to do. (But he liked to think he did a good job at it.)

There were signs and people all around him but Einan was very particular about the company he kept. See, he'd had enough of the big, rough types out on the road. When he had a choice in matters, Einan preferred androgynous, pretty types. He wanted somebody with silky hair to run his hair through, somebody that would whisper softly into his ear--an erogenous zone for Einan--and press their body up against his. Woman, man, it didn't much matter, as long as they had soft hair, soft skin, and a soft voice. He had about enough of those body builder types to last him twelve kinds of lifetimes.

With his work stowed carefully away, he was free to have a good time and he had the money to pay for good company. At least... as he walked toward his brothel of choice, he remembered that he had... up until he slid his hand toward his money pouch and found that it was missing.

Taking in a deep breath, Einan stopped abruptly and patted himself down, sure that his pouch hadn't been in plain view of any vagrants or miscreants. Yet, it was nowhere to be found. He hadn't even hidden it in his boot? No. Irritation rising, Einan looked around him, behind him.

"You!' he said, addressing the nearest person. "Did you see the thief?!"

He didn't bother explaining--he was sure any idiot could tell what was going on by now.

You know, someday, his trickery was going to get him killed.

The thing was, Suyis knew that. Did he care? Some days. It really depended on the day. This day, not terribly much. He wasn't drunk, but he'd been getting there, off and on throughout the day, having visited Livia long enough to bum a nice bottle of wine off her, and he'd made it almost halfway down. It wasn't a particularly big bottle, nor was the wine within it notably strong, it was just every day wine that didn't taste like horse piss. But since when did House Asheron stock wine that tasted like horse piss? One good thing about owning over half the country's wineries, House Asheron always had good wine sitting around.

And Livia was boring, and never drank it. Her father on the other hand, Suyis was pretty sure he was always a bit tipsy. Had to be, to deal with the shit House Asheron got into, what with them supporting this pretty kitten aiming for imperator over there in House Essair (he was like, twelve, and this could only end in tears).

But hey, Suyis was always up for tears. And nicking pretty strangers' coin.

"What?" Suyis asked, tone somewhat coy. "You mean you want this?" He held the man's pouch up by a finger. "Gonna have to catch me." Suyis was rather the distance runner, when he wanted to be. He should be rethinking his life choices, but, instead, he tucked the pouch away, and took off through the streets. Nobody knew this district better than he did, deftly weaving around buildings. He'd get caught eventually, either by chance, or because he let the other catch him; but that was the fun part.

For a second, Einan couldn't believe that he was seeing what he was seeing. His pouch, strung up in the hand of somebody that appeared to be taunting him. A thief so bold as to steal from him on the street and then taunt him? Einan raised his brows slightly in disbelief. Before he could expound said disbelief, the thief was off.

There wasn't a moment to lose. While his head was still shrouded in blatant disbelief, the rest of Einan's body said run. Not away--after the thief. It was foolish and it was stupid because it was probably a trap but with his head still clinging to the disbelief at the thief's audacity, Einan obeyed his bodily instincts.

He ran. He ran as fast as his fleet feet could take him. The thief was pretty tall and had a pair of long legs but Einan was confident that he could take him, especially with adrenaline boosting his performance. But the thief was fast and he seemed adept at maneuvering the streets of the pleasure district at his quick pace. Einan had never run through it; he'd always strolled leisurely through the area.

Yelling stop felt useless but he still shouted, "Thief!" as if some random passerby would be inclined to assist him in capturing the thief.

Oh goodie!

He followed.

Well, of course he did. Suyis wouldn't presume one would come to the pleasure district with just a small number of hessions, one would never. At least, no hot-blooded male he'd ever met. Suyis did, but you know, he had friends here. Friends that were more than happy to cut off his business contact until he paid his tab, go figure. So rude.

Suyis, though, just laughed. Everyone around here, well, they knew him, knew he did things like this on random whims, and sooner or later, he'd give up. It wasn't like he needed the money. Unless he managed to nick a bunch of hessions off Marcus Cassimer, or something, now that'd be something. He'd probably donate it to one of the slave assistance programmes in the Free Cities.

Fuck that guy.

"Naaaa na, you're kinda slow aren't you," Suyis squealed, as he ran, eventually turning down a back alley, taking an immediate left. He slowed down purposely, though, about there, because the back alleys were pretty easy to lose someone in, particularly his scrappy self. Again, he didn't actually intend to get away. He was just bored. ... how he was bored in the pleasure district, well, he couldn't tell you.

Should've just gone and gotten laid. Probably smarter. Welp, smarter isn't always funner.

Those were his hard earned hessions, damn it! He wasn't letting go of them that easily and certainly not that number of them! As he continued to sprint after the thief, he found himself contemplating the position of his life in that moment. How did he go from coming into the pleasure district with his sights set on a soft, warm body to dance up to... only to run the streets in such a blur that he was probably passing up some prime opportunities!

The thief's laugh rang through the alleyway, taunting Einan. That put a burst of speed into him, determined to catch the thief now more than ever. Laughing at him? The indignity! (And being called slow certainly didn't help--he thought of himself as quite fast.) That just put more speed into his step.

That must have worked because he could see him, closer, closer, closer...!

Einan was on him. As soon as his hand darted out to shove a shoulder into the wall, his other hand shot out to trap the thief between the stone wall behind him and Einan's body.

"Pouch," he demanded. "Now."

Seemed he caught up. Suyis released a huff of air, as he hit the wall, but it sounded more amused than pained, or anything. Good. All he really had to do was give the guy just a little bit of extra leeway, and he caught up on his own. He went into the alleys, because getting shoved into a wall was less painful than hitting the cobblestone.

Listen, nothing says aw fuck my life, like hitting cobblestone.

"Awww... that's not a happy face," Suyis answered, grinning in amusement. "Or what?" And then the guy had to find it, of course, because it was no fun if he just handed it to him. It was somewhere on him, but, who knew where. Well, presumably Suyis knew where, but clearly he wasn't sharing. "Admittedly, though, I'm pretty notorious, you'd probably get a lot more for just turning me in."

Was he kidding? Serious? Who knew. Certainly he was amused, but that was essentially all that was readable. This was par for the course, with Suyis, but hey, this one didn't know that, didn't know what few tells he had. Besides! Breaking out of a jail cell sounded entertaining. Yeah, he was gonna die someday. Oh well. Nobody got out of this alive, anyway.

"No," he agreed, in regards to his face. "It's not."

And what raised his ire was the fact that the thief was still playing. There was a shimmer of amusement dancing in his damned eyes, like he'd stolen that pouch with the intent of being found out--and caught. Which annoyed Einan because this was most decidedly cutting into his time with some pretty young thing in a brothel.

He immediately slid his hand from the thief's shoulder to his wrist, so that he could keep a tight grasp on him. As weasly as this guy was turning out to be, it wouldn't surprise him if he still got out of hand. Or what? His brow twitched involuntarily with irritation.

"You just said it yourself. I'll turn you in." He used his free hand to try and track down his damned pouch without a thought towards physical proximity. If this guy wanted space, he shouldn't have stolen his goods and run off with them--and then challenged him to find the pouch afterward! Cursing under his breath, he patted the thief down.

"Seriously, where is it?"

No... no, it wasn't. At least Suyis wasn't so far off his rocker he couldn't tell that, but, of course, that just amused him more, the grin growing wider. Ah, the fun was all in the game, wasn't it. Well, unfortunately, he'd been apprehended. Oh no! Whatever will he do!

Oh. Well, jail-break still sounded fun! One eyebrow arched, as the guy went to looking for his money on his own, and Suyis actually sort of squirmed in amusement. "It's no fun if I just tell you," Suyis answered. "And a jail-break sounds like fun, so, go for it." Of course, he'd find it eventually. Suyis was psycho, but he wasn't rude, and it wasn't anywhere particularly out of the norm.

"I'm Suyis, by the way," he mentioned. Most had heard that name, at least. He was the first of his name, king of a giant airship, master of plunder. Or... something like that. Mostly, he just got drunk. "You'll find it eventually." It was just in his back pocket. Would probably have to feel up his ass to get it, but it wasn't like Suyis cared! But, Suyis had no real concept of personal space. What was the fun in personal space, anyway. Yeah, none, that was what.

One way or another, Einan was getting that money back. He was marching back into the heart of the pleasure district, and he was going to pay a pretty price for a pretty face and he was going to relax. That was his plan for the evening, barring this unfortunate incident. There was no doubt that the thief had taken his pouch--he taunted him with it earlier and that was definitely his. So it had to be on his person... somewhere. And it wasn't in his boot because he hadn't leaned down before taking off.

Shirt? Secret pocket--Einan had those, so he knew too well about them. He was guessing a thief would have them, too.

Also, the threat of turning him in did little to deter the smiling thief. If anything, he looked like he was winning at some secret game between himself and... himself, since Einan wasn't privy to the rules.

"Oh, I'm so glad you've given me your name, Suyis," he said, "if that's even your name." He tried to slide his hand into Suyis' shirt, aware his hands were definitely all over the man's body but not particularly worried about it. Suyis didn't seem that worried either, except for the occasional squirming. Was he ticklish? Or was he just... What was he?! Yeah... what was he?

"Or," he said, hand sliding down over Suyis' hip as he considered his captured thief. He had a pretty smile. Hair looked soft. His body moved like a dream; it would have taken a blind man not to notice during the chase. Agility usually related to some interesting positions in bed. "You can keep it and serve its intended use."

"Maybe it is my name," Suyis answered, just as amused as before. No, maybe more so, because things were definitely going the way he wanted. "And maybe, it's not." Ah, by this point, who even knew what the best part was; was it the chase? Or maybe it was the catch? Or maybe, it was the what came after that, the who knew, the unknown. It was hard to say.

You knew you needed more bed partners, when you were both amused by and enjoying getting pinned to a wall. Well, Suyis never kept his for long. They liked to catch feelings.

Oh? Wow, that was almost too easy. He stuck to the amused gig. It was a better idea, but internally, that was curious. "Can I, now?" Suyis shifted a bit, against the wall, bringing them a little closer together, watching the man through his eyelashes. "Are you calling me pretty?" he asked, tilting his head up, still amused, but his tone had dropped to that low, somewhat whispery sound.

Of course. It could be, it could be something else. Since he so willingly offered up his name, Einan was somewhat inclined to believe it was his name but it could just be some thief name he'd given himself, some pseudonym to hide under when he made off with people's hessions. How did he know where they were, anyway? Einan could have sworn he'd hidden them well enough. Well no, maybe not. He was pretty sure he'd just slipped them into one of his coat's hidden pockets. Any thief worth his salt would have known about hidden pockets. Not to mention, how to slide the pouch out without so much as being detected.

While Einan studied the man's face, trying to read his expression, he had to ask himself--how long had Suyis been in possession of his money--and had he been waiting for Einan to notice? Hm.

Suyis was clever; there was no need to explain to him what the hessions were for. He was playing coy, looking at him through those long, dark lashes like he was only just now wrapping his head around the concept. Had he planned for this? Hard to tell. Einan couldn't imagine that this happened every time Suyis here stole from somebody. After all, only a short while ago, Einan had been irritated by the interruption and the audacity it must have taken to simply take his money and run off with it.

How many actually gave chase, at that?

Einan kind of didn't care at the moment. It was hard to care about motives when Suyis shifted his body just so and used his voice in just the sort of soft tone that Einan was attracted to. Suyis, he was sure, drove many a person crazy. He has to know what he's doing. And that was partly annoying and partly intriguing. Damn it all, if he wasn't being sucked into the game whilst being aware of it.

His gaze locked onto those amused, dancing eyes, then took in the pretty curve of his lips. Abandoning all pretense of looking for his lost money pouch, he brushed at Suyis' dark hair with his fingertips.

"I wouldn't spend my hessions on anything less."

Got him.

Aw, that didn't take long. He was almost disappointed the other man didn't take a bit longer to crack, but, they all caved eventually, some quicker than others. No, this wasn't the first time he'd done something like this, with similar intentions. Nor would it be the last, he was sure. Still, it was so easy. Logically, of course it was. Suyis was, he'd gathered eventually, rather attractive, especially when he tried. Given his boisterous confidence, one would expect Suyis to be wildly aware of that, but he often forgot, didn't think about it.

At least the hessions would keep his wine stores full for a while. And some that came here were just a bit easier, anyway, frustration and all of that.

"I'm flattered," Suyis murmured, tilting his head slightly, almost shyly. Almost, not quite, the amusement still alight in his eyes; it never really did go away, anyway, it was essentially the pirate's default state. "Hopefully it's worth your while. I'm not against fucking against walls, but, maybe not this one." What? This was one of those irritating stone walls that somehow managed to push against all the wrong bones. "Wanna see a dreadnought?" His was one of only three in all of Azaleon; it wasn't every day someone saw a dreadnought class airship. The other two belonged to Haradi and Saqqara, respectively, but rarely were they ever let out of their hangars.

The Har'zaref, of course, awaited her captain off shore, half in the water, half over a rock outcropping, all her cloaks up. He had to be careful where he put the stupid airship, you know, auratech wasn't much cared for in Dalmasca, and airships fell under that header. Ironic, though, it was a Dalmascan-born that invented the damned things, but Suyis didn't always point that out.

He was Macenian. Fuck Dalmasca.

Well, wasn't he an awfully easy-going one? Was this encounter going by the numbers for him? Catch a person's attention by robbing them, set off on a chase, and then... this? It seemed like he played hard-to-get but not really. More... impish. More... mischievous. Einan liked that look in his eyes; something about it made his heart patter faster and it definitely stirred interest in lower regions. After all, this was just the sort of androgynous beauty that Einan was attracted to.

And he could touch that hair all day, really. His fingertips sifted through long, sable hair, somewhat amused but mostly aroused.

Einan didn't mind fucking against walls either--he might very well have if that was what they had to resort to. But he had to admit, he preferred somewhere a little more secluded. Einan liked to put all of his attention into his lovers, not looking over his shoulder for possible voyeurs.

He lowered his head and let out a soft, genuinely amused laugh.

"That," he said, as he raised his head, lightly brushing his nose against Suyis' as he did so, "entirely depends on the... dreadnought." Double entendre or not, his lips quirked into a crooked little smile. "But I'd like to see yours."

A slight tisk sound loosed, and, despite the smile on his face fading somewhat, the amusement in his eyes stayed. Good thing Suyis hadn't braided his hair down, today, given how interested in it his... this one was. Suyis' nose twitched, at the contact, just slightly, but if he was bothered by it, he didn't show it. Well, very little of how Suyis actually felt showed, anyway, this was nothing new.

"I'd never call that a dreadnought," Suyis answered, a glimmer of mock-indignation through the amused tones. "... on the first day." The smile that crossed his face, then, was almost a smirk, but not quite, tilted to one side as it was. He was not, in fact, lying; he was more of maybe a flagship on a good day, not a dreadnought, but he supposed that was neither here nor there. The bright side was, the coast wasn't too far, but rarely was it ever, in Nydema. Getting to the Har'zaref wouldn't be difficult in the least. They just had to detach from one another long enough to make it.

Suyis, though, he was the type that was bluntly honest and straight-forward; except when he decided to play his games. He wasn't one of those item A into object B types, no. Where was the fun in that? Besides, he liked making people want him. There was certainly something to be said for the turn on that being desired was, and that was probably his draw to these kinds of games. He could've made himself a lot of money, if he'd decided to make this a permanent base of operations, no doubt, and sometimes, he did, dropped in on a random brothel and made himself a killing. It wasn't like he was broke. Suyis had plenty of money from double-crossing Haradi, but he was fairly sure their king knew what he'd done and didn't care. This, it wasn't about the money.

And if this guy did want his hessions back, after this, he could have 'em.

Lightly, his fingers trailed across the other man's jaw, and Suyis shifted again, closer, and then patted his cheek, twisted his wrist around and freed it, and slipped under the other's arm. He did, of course, need the space, hence the subtly pushing the other away from the wall, but it was obvious he wasn't escaping, as his hand slid down the arm he ducked under as he did so, waving slightly as their hands separated, hinting that he meant to be followed. Fortunately, they'd made it through the district in their running far enough, the Har'zaref was practically around the corner.

"You don't call it that on the first day or it simply isn't that big on the first day?" Einan's eyebrow rose in lingering amusement.

Flexibility to maneuver any situation; that was part of what it took doing what he did. Einan had never been one of those stick-serious engineering types, even back home. He'd been the one with a quip and the one that suffered glares for his levity. It wasn't a surprise, then, that he'd taken what he'd learned to benefit himself. Einan was also that--selfish. He was looking out for number one. If he didn't find Suyis so attractive, he most certainly would have found a way to get those hessions back.

Briefly, Einan closed his eyes as his jaw was gently stroked. He opened them to an almost patronizing pat on the cheek--narrowed them as Suyis twisted his way out of Einan's trap. A game? Another game? Einan turned to Suyis, to find that he was gesturing for him to follow. Probably back to his dreadnought. Now, now. This was amusing.

"It's real? You actually have a dreadnought?"
